Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

18th November 2014

This evening two team members attended the Annual General Meeting of Chorley Ramblers, to give a presentation on the work of the team.

Arriving at 20.10hrs, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE and Michael Wakerley took along our Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance ‘Bolton Mountain 3.’

The AGM held at Chorley Subscription Bowling Club, Windsor road, Chorley, was attended by twenty six members of Chorley Ramblers.

Included in the audience, and introducing themselves to our Team Leader, was the mother of former Bolton MRT member John Fletcher, now with NEWSART, and Pat Hough, the wife of Garry’s former boss Graham Hough, when Garry worked as a Landscape Architect at Salford Council in the late 1970s – early 1980s.

Garry assisted by Michael gave a powerpoint based presentation to the interested Ramblers, who to a person afterwards stated they had no inkling of how varied our operational workload, and that of other MRTs in Lancashire, actually is.

A fantastic impromptu donation resulted in £56.00 being raised for the team.

Garry and Michael would like to thank Chorley Ramblers for their hospitality this evening (nice hotpot and Christmas cake) and for their obvious interest in the work of Bolton MRT.
