This evening at 19.00hrs our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE attended a meeting regarding Counter Terrorism Briefing Awareness, as part of the UK wide National Counter Terrorism Week taking place from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th November 2014.
The meeting was hosted by our friends at the Salvation Army, with Major Nigel Tansley warmly welcoming all present to their Eccles New Road, Seedley, Salford, premises.
The excellent presentation was given by Kitty Kaur, Counter Terrorism Security Advisor with the GMP Counter Terrorism Branch.
Issues covered included current terrorism threats and the threat level, the recognition of hostile reconnaissance and suspicious activity, advice on what to do if involved in a firearms / weapon attack, and suspect packages.
A considerable amount of very useful information was given in the two and a half hour briefing.
