Commencing at 10.00hrs yesterday, Saturday 6th December 2014, and finishing at a very late 20.00hrs the same evening, our Support Group held their last organised store collection day event of 2014.
The venue was the Tesco Extra Store at Middlebrook, Horwich.
On the collection ‘rota’ were Support Group members Steve James, Dave Rees, Julie Thompson and our Team Secretary Gillian Gregory.
Much appreciated further assistance was provided by valued team supporter John Ryan, probationary team member Heath Doran, and team operational Call Out list member Phil Crook with his partner, Joanne.
We would like to express our many thanks to the management of TESCO Extra, Middlebrook, Horwich, and their Community Champion, Michael Krinks, for giving their permission for Bolton Mountain Rescue Team to hold a charity collection in their store yesterday.
The donations raised exceeded all our expectations and thanks to the kind festive generosity of Tesco’s very supportive customers, a fantastic total of £740.62p was raised towards our work providing a voluntary search and rescue service within the local community.
Finally thanks to young Zak, the grandson of our Team Secretary Gillian Gregory, who kindly helped Grandma Gillian count up all the donations received!
