Seven of our probationers tonight met at 19.00hrs at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, for the near to concluding parts of their eight session long probationary training period, since first attending the team on Thursday evening, 23rd October 2014.
In a session conducted by very long serving team member Mike Marsh, helicopter operations / awareness was covered, including a Training DVD published by the MoD on military SAR Sea King helicopter awareness and familiarity.
This was followed by a training awareness session to the seven, from Dave Cook our Equipment Officer – Water, on the use of team personally issued PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices), which are issued to all our operational call out list members on a one to one basis.
As usual Dave did his dramatic party trick of demonstrating the pull cord / immediate inflation cord on a PFD! big bang and a perfect impression of Mae West!
