Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

10th February 2015

This morning our Training Officer Alistair Greenough, and Medical Equipment Officer Nigel Booth (with his rope rescue ‘head’ on) journeyed in our Land Rover ‘Bolton Mobile 3’ to Lyon Work and Rescue at Old Tebay, Cumbria.

Nigel, who is a full time Watch Manager with GMFRS at Bolton North Community Fire Station, has over the years attended many courses via GMFRS at Lyon, and this visit today was to rekindle some contacts and to discuss some aspects of our rope work working.

Both Alistair and Nigel met with Bill Bateson (Former RAFMRS and still now involved in civilian MR) of Lyon Work and Rescue, and both Alistair and Nigel wish to pass on thanks to Bill for his interest and time spent with them during their visit.

Returning back to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ late afternoon, both Alistair and Nigel found themselves responding to Incident 27.
