Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

17th February 2015

The whole team membership extends its best wishes for the future today to PC 6329 Mel Jeffrey of NPAS Warton on her retirement from the Police.

Mel has been a serving Police Officer for thirty years (she joined at a very young age) fifteen of which she has spent with the Lancashire Constabulary Air Support Unit Helicopter, which became part of the North West Police Helicopter Group and then two years ago became absorbed in to what is now the National Police Air Service.

Mel’s role on the helicopter was as a TFO – Technical Flight Officer, with NPAS Warton.

Mel acted in an informal capacity as a liaison link between Lancashire Constabulary ASU and latterly NPAS Warton, and the mountain rescue teams operating in Lancashire, and was a regular attendee at our various meetings over the years.

A great friend to our team and RPMRT / BPMRT, Mel has always keenly promoted the work of Police Helicopters and how they can assist us in our search and rescue work, as well as readily assisting us with joint training opportunities.

From all of us Mel, enjoy a very long, very happy, and very healthy retirement – and you are still welcome to call in at Bibbys Farm every October for our infamous Air Support Unit Breakfast specials on our Annual Foundation Course !
