Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

21st March 2015

With the first of the new Search and Rescue HMCG helicopters starting to go operational shortly on April 1st this year, and following consultation between the SAR-H helicopter contract provider Bristow, and our national body – MREW, the issue of strong rotor downwash were identified, with the need for personal protective eyewear for mountain rescuers working in the vicinity of the new helicopters.

In order to standardise such protective eye wear within mountain rescue, our national body; Mountain Rescue England and Wales, kindly decided to set up an account with Ultimate Industrial to supply completely free to each receiving mountain rescue team, a full membership issue of protective goggles.

Today we are very pleased to announce the receipt of fifty pairs of bolle SAFETY Atom Goggles from MREW via Ultimate Industrial, which will be issued to all our operational call out list members, to be carried as part of their standard MRT member kit issue.

The Atom Goggles are made of thermo plastic rubber, in a blue frame colour, with a polycarbonate anti scratch / anti fog lens, fully ventilated, and large enough to fit over prescription glasses.

Each pair of Atom Goggles issued to our membership also comes complete with a protective pouch.

The team wishes to extend its grateful thanks to our national body – MREW, for this very kind donation, and we would also like to recognise the work of our National Equipment Officer Richard Terrell, for his personal part in making this possible, including his advice given to our Team Leader over this equipment donation.
