Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

25th March 2015

Regarding the website ‘News’ report of Sunday 22nd March 2015, reference an incident occurring during the East Lancashire Group LDWA Two Crosses Circuit Challenge Event.

At the time this report was made we were under the impression the injured 43 year old female walker was actually taking part in the LDWA event.

It now transpires the woman was not involved in the event, as explained in the following email received by our Team Leader from Gordon Stone of the East Lancashire Group of the LDWA

“Hi, Just reading the report as I was aware of the event, being a sweeper on the event, could you make a correction.

The lady with the broken arm was not on the event. I was told by the marshals that she happened to be nearby when the incident happened – but she was not on the LDWA event, just a local walker.”
