At 13.49 today the team was paged by GMP requesting assistance with a developing search for a missing person in the Egerton area of Bolton. Our Deputy Team Leader Chris Greenhalgh contacted GMP to gather further information. A 79 year old gentleman had gone missing earlier that day and the police and family members were becoming concerned for his welfare. A possible sighting in the Cox Green Road area gave us a starting point.

A callout message was sent at 14.12 and some team members started responding to our base locations to collect vehicles, whilst others responded direct to the rendezvous point which was Cox Green Road, Egerton.

At approximately 14.30, Chris was contacted direct by GMP with the very good news that the missing person had been found on Blackburn Road, which was close to the place last seen. A stand down message was sent at 14.39 with some team members preparing to depart bases and others within just a few minutes of arriving in Egerton.
