Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

15th April 2015

Today whilst in the care of our Equipment Officer – Vehicles, Neil Aspinall, who was taking the vehicle to a local Volkswagen dealership, Neil discovered to his horror that our still new gloss white painted VW Crafter van based Incident Control Vehicle, ‘Bolton Mobile 6’ was covered over its entire front surfaces with a large amount of extensive red paint marks, varying in size from minute to coin sized!

It was quickly ascertained this had happened when the vehicle was parked up, unattended, and nearby recent paint spraying had resulted in paint droplets settling on the front of the vehicle.

We are very pleased to be able to announce that thanks to Neil then spending some four hours plus today and this evening, with T Cut, cleaning fluids, polish and a lot of elbow grease, he successfully managed to remove all evidence of this paint, which thankfully had not fully cured, making removal an arduous but possible task for our Equipment Officer – Vehicles.

These things are sent to try us – or more specifically Neil, who constantly ensures all six of our vehicles are in tip top condition.
