On Tuesday evening, 24th March 2015, we hosted a visit to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ by Leaders Jo and Amber Taylor and the young members of 25th Bolton (Lostock) Beavers.
The seventeen Beavers present were met by full Call Out List team members Paul Copley, our Equipment Officer – Base and Catering, and Gill Leigh, plus Trainee Team members Heath Doran, Gary Melia and Neil Haigh.
The very enthusiastic children were spilt into two groups and shown how to use our SAR Alpine Lite mountain rescue stretcher, followed by a demonstration of our vacuum splints, all finishing with a look round the two Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulances we garage at our Base / HQ.
Today we are very pleased to report that young Harry Melia, the son of team trainee member Gary Melia, came home last night from his Tuesday evening meeting of 25th Bolton (Lostock) Beavers with a lovely gift of some boxes of chocolate cookies, a cheque donation for £40.00 and a certificate of thanks signed from all the children from 25th Bolton (Lostock) Beavers following their visit to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ on 24th March 2015.
Harry’s dad, Gary Melia reported that he “was not sure if the chocolate cookies will make it all the way to LBH as they look really good,” …..” but I will send you a picture of what they looked like!”
All the team membership would like to thank all the young children at 25th Bolton (Lostock) Beavers, and their Leaders Jo, Rob and Amber, for these kind gifts, the certificate will take pride of place in our Ladybridge Hall base / HQ, the donation of £40.00 is much appreciated, and of course we hope Gary and Harry leave some chocolate cookies for the rest of us to enjoy!
