At 20.36hrs this evening, whilst team members were present at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, during a visit by Radcliffe Air Cadets, the team was paged by NWAS (Lancashire) Broughton EOC, to respond to an incident involving a 14 year old male cyclist, with a reported head injury, within woodland off Stoney Gate Lane, Appley Bridge.

Those present at the lecture, immediately made preparations to mobilise as our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE liaised with Ambulance Control to ascertain further details.

Co incidentally other members were also attending our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ at the time collecting some admin, so we had in total seven members immediately available.

Our Team Leader established with Ambulance Control that the incident was ‘over’ the Greater Manchester border and in Lancashire, which is Bowland Pennine MRTs primary operational area, and requested NWAS page BPMRT, but mobilised the team members from our Ladybridge hall Base / HQ at the same time, in the knowledge they may be stood down by BPMRTs subsequent mobilisation.

Garry then liaised with BPMRT Team Leader Kev Camplin, and it was decided to let the Bolton MRT seven in two team Land Rovers continue their response.

By this stage, four team members were also about to respond from our GMFRS Bolton North Community Fire Station garage, but were immediately stood down by our Team Leader.

As our first responding team Land Rover arrived on scene, and met the first responding BPMRT members already on scene, they were stood down, with the casualty being walked out with a suspected collar bone injury.

A full Bolton MRT pager stand down was paged at 21.11hrs, with all seven responding Bolton MRT members back at our Ladybridge hall Base / HQ by 21.45hrs.
