We are extremely pleased and honoured to be receiving as our very special guest at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ on Sunday 26th July 2015, the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Sharman R Birtles JP, DL.
The High Sheriff of Greater Manchester is visiting us at her request to find out more about the work of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team within the local community.
During her very special visit, we will also have as another honoured guest the Bishop of Bolton, Chris Edmondson, who will be conducting a blessing and dedication ceremony for our Incident Control Vehicle, named Mrs Jenny Hoey in memory of the late Mrs Jenny Hoey, who made a substantial bequest to the team enabling us to purchase this specialist vehicle.
Following this ceremony, the team will be presenting Long Service Certificates to five valued team members, honouring their operational service to Bolton MRT with one receiving a Certificate recognising an amazing 45 years service, two receiving Certificates for 35 years service, one for twenty years service and one for fifteen years service.
We will also be presenting on this day the Stanley Award for the Most Promising New Team Member, and the Howard Hill Tankard for the Person Making the Greatest Contribution to the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
Invitations to our colleagues in the Fire, Police and Ambulance are being arranged with our great friend and team supporter Derek Cartwright in his capacity as NWAS Director Of Emergency Operations already having kindly agreed to attend this very special day for us.
Following the proceedings of this day, will be a team member and family Barbeque at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, which has been kindly sponsored by a fantastic supporter of the team who wishes to remain anonymous.
A very warm sunny day has been specifically booked for this special occasion !
