This afternoon, eleven team Call Out members in three of our Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulances, and our VW Crafter van based Incident Control Vehicle, attended the 13.00hrs until 15.00hrs Vintage Fair today at Tottington High School, Laurel Street, Tottington, Bury.
We were invited for the second year running by organiser Joyce Kinsey.
On display were ex military Jeeps and a former US Army truck, classic Land Rovers including a former RAF Police vehicle and a Fire Appliance, and a large number of classic and vintage cars, including many from The Ford Sidevalve Owners Club (Prefects, Populars, a Squire and a 1930s vintage Model ‘Y’Eight)
An immaculate ‘E’ type Jaguar, Porches, a Bentley, and an MG stood alongside classic motorcycles on display.
Also present was the Dennis Metz Turntable Fire Appliance from the Greater Manchester Fire Museum, and two former Police Traffic Cars from Police Car UK – an ex GMP Range Rover and a Jaguar concept car.
The unique Yelloway motor Coach travelling museum, a large scale model railway layout and ‘Marguerita,’ a Grand Centenary Fairground Organ, alongside a traditional ‘stop me and buy one’ ice cream stall, and food stalls completed the stalls and exhibitors on show today.
Upon leaving this event, on the way back to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, our ‘Bolton Mobile 3’ Land Rover with team members Neil Aspinall, Steve James and Craig Lamb, briefly stopped to offer their assistance at a very serious motorcycle accident at Hawkshaw, but their help was not required by the attending GMP, NWAS and Air Ambulance resources present.
