With the team membership having been out on emergency call outs on Saturday evening, Monday and Tuesday evenings, it was deemed ‘thoughtful’ to give everybody the ‘night off’ from our routine scheduled weekly Wednesday evening training exercise of tonight.
So most got to catch up on Coronation Street – team member Mark Scott is a walking encyclopaedia on Corrie! or to catch the latest from Peter Kay’s comedic mind.
However there are always things to be done and to do in the team, so this evening saw our Equipment Officer –Base and Catering Paul Copley, at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ once again restocking our ‘call out food box’ and associated drinks supplies, after our and Cheshire’s members had their fill of choccy biscuits and drinks on Monday and Tuesday evenings search incidents.
At the same time, our Treasurer Martin Banks was looking and reviewing our fuel costs (Yes we have that to deal with as well) incurred on recent call outs and training exercises, and inevitably, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was busying himself in a corner of our Base / HQ mumbling about “reporting all these recent incidents.” (He loves it really!)
Meanwhile this rare ‘night off’ was immediately seized upon by our Training Officer Alistair “I can get 26 hours into any day” Greenough, who met at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to review the progress of our excellent still in draft, Training Log Book initiative, along with its author, team member Michael Wakerley, and Logbook ‘ever willing I’ll trial it” Trainee team member Heath Doran.
