This evening our Team Secretary, Gillian Gregory, represented our Support Group at the invitation of our fantastically supportive friends at the Rotary Club of Westhoughton, who had arranged a ‘local area’ recruitment evening for volunteers from within the local community, who might be interested in assisting a number of charities and groups invited to display this evening.

The event was held in the Main Hall of The Gates Primary School in Westhoughton, and there were representatives present from Scouting and Guiding, Westhoughton Befriending Service, Wingates Band, Westhoughton Art Group, Bolton Lads & Girls Club, Friends of Eatock Lodge, Rotary Club of Westhoughton and Westhoughton Inner Wheel Club, as well as our own Support Group.

A small but interested number of people came along to learn about the various organisations with a view to offering help on a voluntary basis, and they went away clutching leaflets to digest at home from the charities represented.

We would like to thank President (Elect) of the Rotary Club of Westhoughton, John Moutrie, for his invitation to attend tonight and for the opportunity to promote our Support Group and its work.
