Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

20th May 2015

On Sunday 14th June 2015, the team will be providing standby rescue cover for this years Prestwich Challenge Sunday event.

This is a multi terrain 8 mile challenge event organised by Prestwich Athletics Club, starting and finishing at Sedgley Park Rugby Club, Whitefield, which also raises a large sum of money for designated local charities.

The course which attracts some 350 runners, takes in the many trails and tracks through the Philips Park and Drinkwater Park areas, including steep wooded hillsides, stream runs and crossings and even short tunnel sections!

This evening at 19.30hrs, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE and Deputy Team Leader Chris Greenhalgh, visited the course route for a familiarity exercise, with the Challenge organiser, Glenn Martin of Prestwich Athletics Club.

Travelling around the course in our Incident Control Vehicle, a large part of the course route was also walked, and potential ‘problem’ areas discussed.

The walk around visit concluded at 21.30hrs.
