At 09.52hrs this sunny morning, we were paged by NWAS EOC Broughton, to lend our assistance to a multi agency response developing to reports of a car which had left the road at Broadhead Road, in the vicinity of Pickup Bank, Hoddlesden.

Emergency Services resources were en route or already on scene when we were called, with our assistance being required to stretcher evacuate at least one person back up the embankment to the road.
The car involved, had two adult and two child occupants, with at least two of the four injured.
One of our team Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulances was already mobilising, with three others about to mobilise, when our first team member on scene, Paul Brain, who arrived at 10.05hrs, quickly ascertained from the on scene commanders, there was no longer any requirement for MRT assistance, and this was confirmed in a pager stand down at 10.14hrs.

- NWAS (Cumbria and Lancashire); EOC Broughton Airdesk, two Emergency Ambulances and two Rapid Response vehicles.
- NWAS; HART Team – stood down responding whilst en route.
- North West Air Ambulance; Helimed 75 (the ‘Red One’) City Airport Manchester – Barton, two aircrew Paramedics and Pilot / Captain.
- Lancashire Constabulary; Numerous Police Officers and response vehicles.
- Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service; 2x Fire Appliances.
- Bolton Mountain Rescue Team; One Team Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance already mobile and three more mobilising at time of stand down. 1x team member on scene and 17x more responding at time of stand down.
