On Sunday 3rd May 2015, we assisted an NWAS Emergency Ambulance crew with the stretcher evacuation of a collapsed man from the edge of Sunnyhurst Wood, Darwen (Please see website incident report dated the same)
Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received a very kind card of thanks from the wife of the man involved, Mrs D. Bury, enclosing a thoughtful £30.00 donation from Everton Street Bowling Club, Darwen.
Addressed to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team the card stated:
“Dear Sirs,
Please find enclosed a cheque for £30.00 donated by Everton Street Bowling Club, Darwen.
My husband, John Bury, is a member of the bowling club and he was assisted by BMRT on Sunday, 3rd May, when he slipped in Sunnyhurst Wood, Darwen.
Many thanks, Mrs D Bury.”
