This evening saw the culmination of four sessions over the last few weeks devoted to rope work training and water operations.
Tonight twelve team members were present at GMFRS Bolton North Community Fire Station for more work and familiarity with rope descending, ascending and raising techniques, under the tutelage of our Equipment Officer – Ropes and Stretchers Nigel Booth.
Six other team members were present again for the second week running at Burrs Country Park, for some work on the River Irwell, including our Equipment Officer – Water Dave Cook, John Dickinson, DVSD Handler Dave Marsh, Nick Berry and Steve Fletcher, with team member Phil Horner observing the exercise from the dryness of the riverbank.
Team IT guru and webmaster Paul Brain spent the evening at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ adding pictures to our website report of our special VIP visit day of Sunday 26th July and updating our MREW Incident submission details.
Though our specific Wednesday evening sessions have now completed, further ad hoc and obvious continuation training in both these topic areas will continue.
