On Saturday 6th June 2015, the team provided full day standby rescue cover for the third year running, for the Bolton hill Marathon event.
Organised by Phil Eccleston from Bolton, the event took in a course from Moss Bank Park in Bolton, north across the moors to White Coppice, Brinscall Woods and a return along the Rivington Reservoir chain back to Moss Bank Park.
In total we had twenty two team call out list members present in three of our Team Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles to cover the event throughout the day.
Team members first met at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for a 09:00 departure, with members out covering the day in two shifts, morning and afternoon (that said some members were out all day)
All members present were stood down from the event late afternoon, finishing back at our Ladybridge Base / HQ by 17:00.
Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received a letter from the event organiser Phil Eccleston, thanking us for our involvement with the event, which after being held for three years is no longer being organised in the future.
Enclosed with Phil’s letter was a donation to the team of £100.00 along with the comment from Phil ;
“Please accept the enclosed cheque of £100.00 as a personal donation from myself for all the hard work you have put into the event over the previous years.”
The team extends its thanks to Phil Eccleston for this kind donation.
