On Saturday night, 3rd October 2015, our Trailing Search Dog Handler Steve Nelson (who is a member of SARDA Wales) was put on standby at 21.00hrs to join a search operation by Cockermouth MRT, for a missing man, last seen on Wednesday 30th September 2015.
This morning, Steve and his regular navigator Elaine Gilliland (Bolton MRT, and also SARDA Wales) with his Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Boris, mobilised at 11.45hrs en route to the Honister Pass RVP, arriving at 14.05hrs.
Steve, assisted by Elaine, then commenced his part in the growing search operation, with Trailing Search Dog Boris, finishing their involvement and leaving the search at 15.40hrs, to return home.

Incident 62, 3rd October 2015; A walker from the North East was reported missing, last seen at Buttermere Youth Hostel on the 30 September. His car was located below Honister Pass, but there was no certainty about his intended route. The team searched the more obvious locations including Youth Hostels and huts, but nothing was found.
Incident 63, 4th October 2015; A number of Lake District teams continued the search from the previous day. Cockermouth MRT, Keswick MRT, Lake District search dogs, and the Cave Ore Mines Rescue Unit (COMRU) searched the Fleetwith Pike, Dale Head, Haystacks and Great Gable areas.
