On Thursday 24th September 2015, we reported within our website that team members Michael Eddleston, Trainee member Steve James and our President Bob Hutchinson, had journeyed to Wellfield High School, Yewlands Drive, Leyland, to give a presentation on the work of the team to Year 7 pupils.

Joining the three, who attended with our Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance, radio callsign ‘Bolton Mobile 1,’ was very long serving team member Diane Blakeley, who in her capacity as Assistant Head Teacher Learning and Teaching at Wellfield, had organised the visit.

The afternoon saw our colleagues from NWAS and LFRS also visiting the school.

We are now happy to report the receipt of a very kind letter of thanks dated 6th October 2015 from Miss Diane Blakeley of Wellfield High School ;

Thank you for giving up your time recently to come along to our Wider World Day for Year 7 pupils.

It is always a pleasure to invite you to our school and we greatly appreciate the time you have given to providing all our pupils with lots of information about the work you do, the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day and gained a lot from it.

They have been particularly talking about carrying the stretchers and sitting in the Land Rover.

Not only the pupils, but also the staff involved enjoyed the day and in particular watching the pupils carrying the stretchers.

Thanks again for your support which is very appreciated and I hope we can look forward to working together again in the future.

Enclosed with this kind letter were some fantastic and very colourful hand made thank you cards from the Year 7 pupils, which have now been put up in pride of place within our Ladybridge Hall Base /HQ., our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE would like to personally thank Liam, Katy, Holly, Autumn, Isabelle, Sophie and Charlie for making these great cards, they are all appreciated, along with all the very kind and thoughtful comments they contain.
