This evening our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was invited by NWAS Director of Operations, Derek Cartwright QAM to a meeting at the NWAS (Greater Manchester Area) EOC at Parkway Business Centre, Princess Road, Manchester.

Here, commencing at 19.00hrs, Derek was meeting two Bolton MBC / Horwich Town Council Councillors, Councillor Kevin McKeon (Labour) and Councillor Richard Silvester (Labour Co-operative) both of Bolton MBC Horwich North East Ward, for a tour of the EOC and a presentation on the working of NWAS.

Garry had been invited by Derek, to demonstrate the collaborative working and support Bolton MRT provides to NWAS in the Bolton area, and wider Greater Manchester and Lancashire area.

Also present throughout the meeting, was Vicky Worrall, NWAS EOC Sector Manager for Greater Manchester Area, and Maddy Edgar, NWAS Senior Communications Manager.

(Garry also met up with NWAS Officer Andrew Redgrave on duty tonight at the EOC)

Both Councillor’s commented on the excellence of the presentation they had been given, and were amazed at the workload being carried out at the EOC (one of the busiest in the UK)

The visit concluded at 23.30hrs, with Maddy rushing home to celebrate her special day, Happy Birthday Maddy – sweet eighteen or twenty one again!
