Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

10th December 2015

On Saturday 7th November 2015, the team was called out to assist NWAS and Lancashire Constabulary in regards to a horse rider who had fallen from her horse sustaining serious injuries, on the flanks of Darwen Moor (Please see website Incident Report 84 dated the same)

Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE has received the following very kind letter with an enclosed donation from Mrs Ann Telese, of Darwen, the horse rider involved in this accident;

“Dear Mr Rhodes,

I’m writing to thank you and your team for coming to my rescue on 7th November.

I’d fallen from my horse on Darwen Moor, in really heavy rain and wind and I’d like to commend your team who attempted to keep me warm and dry.

I found their presence very reassuring and their concern to keep me comfortable whilst they carried me off the moor to the waiting ambulance was heartening.

Not an easy task considering where I had landed.

I was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.”

(Webmaster ; Ann then describes in her letter her very serious chest injuries)

“I was discharged on 17th November and I’m now recuperating at home.

As a small token of my thanks please accept this cheque of £100.00.

Kind regards, Ann Telese.”

The entire team membership extends its sincere thanks to Ann Telese for this thoughtful letter, and its kind comments therein.

We also Ann for her kind and supportive donation, and to a person, we extend our ‘Get Well’ wishes to Ann on her continuing recovery from her very serious injuries.
