Today Steve Nelson, our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Handler, with his Search Dog Boris, deployed to Kendal, to assist with an on going search operation for a missing woman in the area, which had involved LDSAMRA search assets assisting Cumbria Constabulary, since the woman was reported missing on Wednesday 13th January 2016.
Steve and Boris, left their Bolton home at 10.00hrs today, engaging in a Trail search from circa 12.00hrs until 13.30hrs, following which was the necessary debriefing, which was completed by 14.30hrs.
Steve and Boris returned back to their Bolton home by 16.00hrs.
Sadly the body of the missing woman was discovered later the same day.

Kendal MSRT called by Cumbria Police on Wednesday night, 13th January, to assist in the search for a missing Kendal woman.
The team and two of our search dogs conducted searches in areas highlighted by the police.
Team stood down for the night at 21:00hrs.
On Thursday 14th January, along with the assistance of 7 search dogs from Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs and members from Duddon & Furness MRT, we continued the search for the missing person.
After a full day of searching, teams were stood down as darkness fell.
On Friday 15th January, one of our team members spent the day with a Mountain Rescue Trailing Dog.
We were informed by the police that a woman’s body had been found and thanked for our efforts in the search.
