Following the three incidents we attended yesterday, on Sunday 17th January, a large amount of team kit was in need of cleaning and drying.
Unfortunately as we arrived back at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ at the conclusion of the third consecutive incident, we were faced not with our normally well lit and centrally heated Base / HQ but in the damp and the sleet / rain, our building was dark and very cold as the result of a local power cut.
Wet and mud dirtied casualty bags – not an easy thing to wash and dry, were taken home by Geoff Seddon and our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, for some TLC.
Other kit had to wait for today, when with power restored, a work gang of our Training Officer Alistair Greenough, Dave Marsh, Steve O’Hara, Neil Haigh and Nigel Booth, descended on a large amount of muddy and dirtied kit and team vehicles to restore all back to cleanliness and dryness.
All the comprehensive search and rescue equipment was also taken off our Land Rover ‘Bolton Mobile 1,’ which has a transmission fault and is immobile awaiting transfer to a local garage for urgent repair.
