Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

16th February 2016

At 14:03 today the team were called to assist The North West Ambulance Service gaining access to a female walker near to Rivington Hall Barn.

The casualty was located by former team member Andy Ryding who works as a Ranger for United Utilities. Andy was able to provide an accurate location to our Deputy Team Leader, Chris Greenhalgh, to ensure the team could access the woman quickly.

The woman had been walking with friends when she had slipped suffering a suspected fractured ankle in Breres Meadow.

The first mountain rescue person on scene was Steve Nelson who was able to assist the attending NWAS personnel by providing shelter.

With further personnel arriving along with Mountain Rescue Land Rover Ambulances, the woman was packaged on to one of our Alphin stretchers and carried to the waiting NWAS ambulance, just before the wintery showers broke.

In total 11 team members attended this mid-afternoon incident.

The team would like to thank Andy Ryding in assisting with locating the injured woman and for providing a clear location for the team to follow.
