Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

11th March 2016

On Friday 27th February 2016, we reported that our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received within the post, a letter from Bromleys Independent Funeral Services, informing the team, that at the funeral of Mr John Aspbury (Doctor John Aspbury) donations had been thoughtfully requested to Bolton MRT in lieu of flowers.

In total eight donation cheques had been received, to the value of £570.57p

This was a very thoughtful and kind total donation, with the entire team membership at the time extending its sincere thanks to all those family members, friends and colleagues of the late Mr John Aspbury, who chose to honour his memory in this kind way.

Our collective condolences were of course expressed to Mr John Aspbury’s family, friends and colleagues, and in particular his wife, Mrs Heather Aspbury.

On Thursday 21st January 2016, linked to the above donations, we reported within our website the following;

Not previously reported has been a very kind and thoughtful donation from our dear friend David Bisset of Turton, in memory of his friend and colleague Doctor John Aspbury.

David informed our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE in a letter dated 16th January 2016, accompanying this kind £50.00 donation;

“Dear Garry,

My old friend and colleague Doctor John Aspbury sadly died last weekend.

His wife, Heather, has asked for donations in his memory to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
Please credit this donation to John.”

Today Friday 11th March, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, received another letter from Bromleys Independent Funeral Services, enclosing a further single very kind and thoughtful donation of £100.00, in memory of the late Mr John Aspbury.

This means that in total a very kind and thoughtful amount of £720.57p has been donated in kind memory of the late Mr John Aspbury.

To honour all these very thoughtful donations, and in memory of Mr John Aspbury (Doctor John Aspbury) the team is now arranging to have a plaque dedicated to the everlasting memory of John Aspbury erected within our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.
