Today six full team members, including trainee Michael Jones, and three Support Group Members travelled to the Greater Manchester Emergency Services day at the Intu Trafford Centre.
The team took a Land Rover ambulance, our Control Vehicle and our minibus to display a selection of the equipment we carry.
A number of Emergency Services and voluntary support services were on display today, including the main Greater Manchester Police (GMP), North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service (GMFRS) and the Army. Specialist services were also in attendance, such as HART alongside volunteer support services like Blood Bikes, the Salvation Army and 4×4 Response.
Friends of the team came and visited the team, including the NWAS Chief Executive Derek Cartwright, former Team Member Michael O’Brien, who now works for NWAS as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Emergency Service, Pete Goble, Team Leader of Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team and member of the HART team and Mick Dewar, GMFRS Search Dog Handler.
Hundreds of people visited the show with a number of visitors taking the time to visit our display, to sit in our Land Rover Ambulance and to chat with the team about the work we carry out.
We raised £106.84 from donations, a “Find Olaf” competition and from the sale of our merchandise.
