Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

18th September 2016

This weekend four team members, Chairman Gillian Leigh, Paul Brain, Samantha McKay and Trainee Rebecca Royce travelled to our neighbouring team Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team Garstang base to undertake training to become TRiM assessors, together with colleagues from the Mid Pennine region from Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team, Rossendale Pendle Mountain Rescue Team and our hosts Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team.

TRiM (trauma risk management) is a method of identifying people who may benefit from further support following traumatic events.

The training was delivered by Vicki Hastings and Rosie Sergison from the Cumbria Stress & Trauma Centre, which covered how the brain deals with events through to carrying out full TRiM assessments.

Gill, Paul, Sam and Becky would like to thank Vicki and Rosie for delivering this training and to Bowland Pennine MRT for hosting the event. This training will assist the team in looking after the welfare of our volunteers who may be affected by what they have seen following traumatic incidents.
