Tonight Bolton Mountain Rescue Team hosted a visit from 46th (Ormskirk) Mawdesley Scouts.
The Scouts were met by operational team members Paul Copley, Heath Doran, John Ryan and Matt Hailwood plus support group member Paul Hurst. Paul Copley reports:-
We started with a question and answer session followed by a couple of mountain rescue short films.
We then went downstairs and discussed what equipment we carried in our Mountain Rescue Land Rover Ambulances.
We demonstrated the vacuum splints and vacuum mattress followed by the Scouts doing a stretcher carry around the grounds near our HQ.
Finally, we finished with another quick question and answer session about what they had learnt about us during their visit.
At the end of the night we were presented with a generous donation of £45.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team would like to thank 46th Mawdesley Scouts for coming to visit us, for their enthusiasm on the night and for their kind donation to support the work of the team.
