At 19;57 this evening the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service for assistance to lift a male casualty who was trapped in a river culvert in Darwen.

The man had suffered a lower leg injury and the ambulance crew were unable to lift the man without assistance.

14 team members attended this incident and managed to extract the man and transfer to the waiting ambulance.
