At 20:46 on Saturday 2nd September the team was contacted by North West Ambulance Service (Greater Manchester) EOC, who were requesting our assistance at an incident in Boothstown, Manchester.
A 16 year old male was reported to have suffered serious abdominal injuries in fields near to Boothstown Marina.
An NWAS RRV paramedic, Emergency ambulance and the NWAS HART team were mobilised, in addition to ourselves and GMP officers. Additional support was provided by an aircraft from the National Police Air Service, for scene lighting and search.
Our first attending team members arrived on scene at 21:12. After initial treatment by the NWAS crews, the casualty was carried on a BMRT stretcher for approximately 500m, to the road, for onward transport to hospital.
BMRT remained on scene to provide scene lighting to support the work of officers from GMP.
Our thanks are expressed to several youths on scene who helped to guide personnel to the incident site.
In total, 22 Bolton MRT members assisted on this incident in three team vehicles.
