77th Bolton St Andrew’s Brownies were recently entertained by our stalwart friends and supporters, Neil & Helen Grundy (The Holcombe Duo) of Tottington, who played music on their alphorns in honour of the Brownies’ Thinking Day, 22nd February.
Lindsey Doyle, Leader-in-Charge of 77th Brownies, explained that Guiding has close links with Switzerland due to the first World Centre being opened there, so they felt that alphorns would be the most appropriate way to mark Thinking Day.
Neil & Helen would not accept any payment for their playing, but asked the Brownie Pack to make a donation to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team – and we are delighted to have received a donation of £30 from St Andrew’s Brownies.
We wish to thank 77th Bolton St Andrew’s Brownies for their kind donation and Neil & Helen Grundy for their generosity in nominating us.
