Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

Whilst providing Standby Rescue Cover for the day long Horwich Festival of Racing, (See below report) which included twenty three team members in attendance, the team responded to an accident during the last race of the day, the Bolton Council / Bolton CVS Road Cycle Race.

A thirty five year old male competitor at circa 15.23hrs had an accident at the junction of Winter Hey Lane and Chorley New Road, suffering a suspected serious shoulder injury.

Our BM4 Land Rover four strong crew, present at this exact location, assisted by our Team Leader who also responded, were able to render immediate care, including assistance from Race Officials and Marshals.

Team members assessed the mans injury, whilst also administering pain killing gas.

An NWAS (Manchester) Emergency Ambulance was called to the scene by our Control staff, arriving at 15.38hrs, which then took the injured competitor (From the Worsley area of Manchester) to Royal Bolton Hospital.

In total this incident directly involved seven team members from the twenty three present.
