We are very pleased to announce our October month end 2014 collection box figures, with £216.43p collected, against £240.25 for October 2013.

Our year to date Collection Box total is £2,648.19 compared to £2,306.77 for this time last year.

We have unfortunately lost five host sites during October and currently have 118x collection boxes out and about in the team’s operational area and with a small number of individual supporters.

Sadly no monies have been recovered from the March 2014 theft of a collection box from that of Team member Gary Melia’s shop; The Barber Shop, in Deansgate, Radcliffe, (See website ‘News’ report dated Friday 28th March 2014).

We continue to feel that there is tremendous scope to increase the number of boxes we have out in the local community we serve, and to this end we are ever grateful to ‘The Bolton News’ for regular articles requesting its readership to support us.

Our ‘target’ figure remains to increase the number of boxes we have out and about to 150 x and in this respect we are continuing to appeal to our wide readership to help us find thirty new sites including considering hosting a box at their workplace.

Our Support Group membership have also set themselves a target to obtain a further ten new sites ….. now here’s the continuing challenge to all our current 2,337 Twitter followers and 790 Facebook friends, if only a tiny number of our friends and supporters out there in ‘social media land’ could also find a new site within our primary operational area, then we’d soon get to that 150 x Collection box total.

We offer our sincere thanks to all who so kindly host a box and of course to the large number of supporters who contribute to so regularly filling up all our boxes out and about.

All our boxes are regularly emptied with all sites thanked and acknowledged each time a box is emptied.

Additionally at each year end, all sites who have generated over £50.00 but under £100.00 receive a laminated Certificate of Thanks.

Those sites who have raised over £100.00 in the year receive a Team Plaque when reached for the first time, and then in subsequent years a Framed Certificate of Thanks.”
