Our Equipment Officer – Base and Catering Paul Copley, a BT employee has received the following fantastic news via email from BT which we are now very pleased to publicly announce;

“Dear Paul,
I am delighted to inform you that your application for a BT People Award has been successful.
In recognition of your voluntary commitment under Civic Champion you have been awarded a Gold award of £1000 for your volunteering with Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
Your group will receive the award via bank transfer using the details which were provided on the application form.

This is great news for Paul and for the team.

Paul in making this application against the the primary question of ; ‘if you were to win an award what would the money be spent on,’ informed the BT People Awards that we were at that time replacing a large amount of our personal issue kit items, including our waterproof mountain jackets, climbing helmets, thermal tops and base layer T shirts, advising that any award would be offset against these items.

Paul, since joining Bolton MRT in October 2010 has previously benefitted from BT’s very kind support in similar BT Award Donation schemes and initiatives made recognising Paul’s work as a volunteer Call Out list operational member of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

The entire team membership would like to extend its thanks to BT for their kind support of Bolton MRT via their recognition of their employee Paul Copley’s role as a Bolton MRT volunteer member.
