Just as our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal Ceremony was about to begin, this evening our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Boris and Handler Steve Nelson were called away to assist our colleagues, Calder Valley SRT for assistance with a search in the Todmorden area of West Yorkshire.

Other Search Dog assets had also been brought in to assist with the search alongside West Yorkshire Police Officers.

As Steve Nelson arrived on scene he was stood down with the discovery of the missing person.

Immediately prior to Steves departure for Todmorden he had been hastily presented with his Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Mayor of Bolton, and the Howard Hill Tankard by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes (please see related story on our ceremony evening.)
