Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

15th November 2014

Commencing early this morning, our Training Officer Alistair Greenough, who works full time as an Accident and Emergency Nurse at Warrington Hospital, had arranged a full days mountain rescue familiarity awareness course for nine members of Remote Medic UK.

The nine initially met up at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ very late last night, with some choosing to bed down at our Base / HQ, whilst others retired to local hotels.

Starting at 09.00hrs, the nine took part in mountain rescue stretcher familiarity sessions, outdoor exercises in the Noon Hill area involving very steep ground, and multi casualty exercises.

Supporting the nine and passing on their expertise, assisting Alistair, were colleague Bolton MRT members Mike Marsh, Equipment Officer – Medical Nigel Booth, Phil Horner and Michael Wakerley.

The nine members present from Remote Medic UK saw at first hand how we operate when we were called out to Incident 92 – see website ‘News’ report, and we asked them to assist us.

The nine included a Doctor, EMTs, an Advanced Care Practitioner and other health care professionals.

Tomorrow all nine will join us for a full days mountain rescue activities in a major local exercise taking place between Rivington and Belmont. (See website ‘News’ report dated Friday 14th November)
