Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

23rd November 2014

Regular readers will be aware via our website that on Good Friday 2014, the team came to the rescue of Chloe Southworth, who suffered a serious leg injury on Rivington Pike whilst enjoying the sunny day with her father, uncle and cousin.

Chloe was immediately tended to by team members on the day, and was flown to hospital by the North West Air Ambulance (Please see website ‘News’ report dated Good Friday, 18th April 2014).

Since her accident that day, Chloe has very kindly offered to support the North West Air Ambulance and Bolton Mountain Rescue Team charities in her role as Rose Queen for 2014-2015 at St. Peter’s Church in Chorley.

Today at 12.00 noon we welcomed to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for another visit, Chloe, her  mum Karen and dad Paul.
Chloe came along to very kindly present us with a wonderful and fantastic donation of £300.00, having raised a further £300.00 for the North West Air Ambulance.

Chloe and her mum and dad, were met initially by our Chairman Craig Lamb, Treasurer Martin Banks and other team members, who were amazed at the £600.00 Chloe aged twelve, has managed to raise for ourselves and the NWAA.

We were informed that £297.00 had come from a tea dance on Sunday 2nd November, £71.00 from donations from her Dance School and her grandma’s senior citizens group, and a truly wonderful £190.00 from donations in lieu of birthday presents at her grand dads recent 80th Birthday celebrations, alongside other fundraising activities carried out by Chloe.

With team members finishing off at our valet day and some heading home and some going in to our team area, Chloe, Karen and Paul all stayed for a short while in the company of our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, with Garry being informed that Chloe has even more fund raising ideas to support us and the North West Air Ambulance.

We all acknowledge the absolutely fantastic effort Chloe is going to, along with her many supporters to in turn support us and the NWAA, what an amazing feat for this young girl, supported by her mum, dad and family.

Obviously all the team membership wishes to thank Chloe for her continuing tremendous support of both ourselves and the North West Air Ambulance.

We would also like to thank Chloe’s grand dad Bob Phillipson, for his wonderful thoughtful support of us in asking for donations to support Chloe’s fundraising in lieu of presents at his 80th Birthday celebrations, a very kind man. (Belated Birthday congratulations from all of us in Bolton MRT)
