Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

26th November 2014

We earlier made a brief report on the visit by very experienced team member Mark Scott, a former Team Treasurer and one time Equipment Officer – Medical, to the early afternoon meeting of Wright Street Luncheon Club at its Horwich Evangelical Church venue, on Monday 24th November 2014.

The following fully detailed report has been made by Mark Scott;

Team member Mark Scott was pleased to be invited to join residents of Horwich for an excellent meal at the Wright Place Luncheon Club on Monday 24th November 2014.

Also in attendance was the Mayor of Horwich Cllr. Richard Silvester who is a big supporter of the Team, having recently chosen us as one of his supported charities during his 2014-2015 term of office.

Cllr.Silvester recently made a substantial donation to the team through this support and so Mark was able to add his thanks to those already made by the Team.

Afterwards Mark gave an illustrated lecture about the work of the team to Luncheon Club members and the Mayor.

This generated a good deal of interest and discussion and Mark was then delighted to receive a donation from the audience of £32.00 presented by Mr Eric Kent and an individual donation of £5.00 from Mrs Evelyn Chamberlain.

Finally Mark displayed some of the contents and capabilities of our Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance call sign Bolton Mobile 3 in which Mark had travelled to the event.

Mark and the Team would like to thank the Luncheon Club members and officers and the Mayor of Horwich for their kind welcome, the excellent lunch, their interest in the work of the Team, and the much appreciated donation made in support of the Team.
