Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

4th December 2014

Now held twice yearly, the GMESLG serves to unite all the statutory emergency Services working in Greater Manchester with the mountain rescue teams which assist them, discussing procedures, incidents, developments and items of mutual interest.

The participating organisations take their turn at hosting the meeting, and this evening we hosted the proceedings at our suitably festive decorated Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ alongside Christmas fare on offer.

The following were present or represented at tonight’s meeting; GMP Force Incident Control Room, GMP Missing Person Search Managers / GMP Tactical Aid Unit – Specialist Search Unit, Bolton MRT, Rossendale and Pendle MRT, Kinder MRT, Glossop MRT, Oldham MRT.

Apologies were received from the NWAS (Greater Manchester) Mountain Rescue Liaison Officer, with rather uniquely, involvement from NWAS  EOC Parkway, taking place via mobilephone – on full load speaker.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were not present.

The meeting commenced at 19.30hrs finishing at 21.00hrs, with Bolton MRT members present including our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, and Michael Eddleston (in his capacity as a GMP Force Duty Manager)

The next scheduled GMESLG meetings will be Thursday 4th June 2015, hosted by Rossendale and Pendle MRT, at their Clegg Street, Haslingden, Base / HQ. and on Thursday 3rd December 2015.
