In September this year our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE became aware of a very kind and generous supportive offer that Bridgedale Outdoor Limited were making to mountain rescue, and he applied to Bridgedale to enquire as to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team benefitting from this kind offer.
On 1st October Garry received the following quickly despatched reply from Chris Gordon, Product Manager, Bridgedale Outdoor Limited;
“Thank you for your interest in Bridgedale’s offer of support to the Mountain Rescue community.
Bridgedale socks are world renown for their exception levels of performance, comfort and durability and in recognition of the fantastic work the dedicated volunteers of MRTs put in each year we are pleased to be able to offer our sock free of charge to each team member.
We are already supporting all 10 teams within the Lake District national park who have all taken up our offer with great enthusiasm and are already enjoying the benefits of comfortable feet on each rescue callout.
We are now extending this offer nationwide and are glad that your team are interested in participating.
Only team members who are active on callouts to qualify for this offer.
Socks are issued on an availability and first come first serve basis.
This offer will be reviewed annually.

Garry and long serving team member Mike Marsh took up this kind offer reply immediately and all requested information was duly despatched to Bridgedale Outdoor Limited.
We are now extremely pleased to announce that Bridgedale Outdoor Limited have sent us a major donation of their socks for all our operational team ‘Call Out list members.’
Included within this very substantial donation to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team are WoolFusion Trekker, CoolFusion Trekker, CoolFusion Trail Diva, and WoolFusion Trekker Womens socks, enabling all our operational members to benefit, men and women members, from gaining two pairs of ‘boot’ socks and one pair each of ‘lighter’ socks from Bridgedales fantastic sock range.
This is an incredible donation to the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, and one which will directly benefit each of our operational members, giving them foot comfort on team activities.
The entire team membership extends its sincere thanks to Bridgedale Outdoor Limited for their kindness, and this fantastic supportive donation, such generosity is really appreciated, and truly is a case of Santa calling early for us.

Team member Mike Marsh will now be making up the total donation in to all the respective individual member size ‘orders,’ and rumour has it he’ll then be donning his Santa outfit and squeezing down all the chimneys in our members homes to personally deliver our Christmas presents from Bridgedale Outdoor Leisure!
