Today a small group of team members undertook some rope work training in Cadshaw Small Quarry, some 400 metres along the track to Cadshaw / Yarnsdale Delf from the A666, high up on the moorlands and plantations between Egerton and Darwen.
Topics covered included looking at setting up anchors for rope access, personal security at the crag top, french prussik and kleimheist self protection prussik type knots, use of the SAR rocker, lowering using the SAR Pro Allp, and hauling with a 3:1 pulley system.
Present this sunny but very cold afternoon were Team Training Officer Alistair Greenough, Equipment Officer – Medical Nigel Booth, Martin Battersby and Trainee Team Members Neil Haigh and Heath Doran.
