Whilst present attending our AGM and Election of Officers this evening, our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Handler Steve Nelson was called out at circa 20.25hrs to join a search at Meliden, Prestatyn, North Wales, for a missing 87 years old man, in circumstances giving North Wales Police concern for his well being.

Steve, along with colleague team member Elaine Gilliland, who acts as his navigator on operational searches, and like Steve, is a member of SARDA Wales, quickly departed our AGM to collect Trailing Search Dog Boris.

They collectively arrived at the search RVP, near Meliden, Prestatyn, at 22.30hrs, to learn that the missing man had been located and North Wales Police subsequently stood down the search response.

Also present and stood down were North East Wales Search and Rescue Team, and other SARDA Wales assets.

Steve, Elaine and of course Boris, arrived back home in the early hours of Thursday 19th March, at circa 01.00hrs.
