Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

26th April 2015

At 11.53hrs late this morning, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was contacted directly by NWAS (Greater Manchester) EOC Parkway, for the team to respond to a serious motorcycle accident at Morleys Farm Race Track, Morleys Lane, Marsland Green, on the open land between Leigh and Astley.

With eleven team members already present at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for our valet day (see below) sufficient resources were available to make an immediate response.

Three Team Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Land Rover Ambulances mobilised from our Base / HQ with our Incident Control Vehicle mobilising from our Bolton Central Community Fire Station garage, with twelve team members in total responding.

At 12.14hrs our Deputy Team Leader Chris Greenhalgh was informed by NWAS (Greater Manchester) EOC Parkway to stand down the Bolton MRT response, as the NWAA Helicopter, ‘Helimed 75,’ from City Airport Manchester (Barton) had managed to land close to the seriously injured motorcyclist, and airlifted him urgently to Salford Hope Hospital.

The responding team members returned to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to complete our monthly valet day tasks.
