On Thursday evening 26th February 2015, fifteen Cadets from Radcliffe ATC, accompanied by their Civilian Instructor David Green and two other Adult Instructors, visited the team at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ. (Please see website ‘News’ report dated the same)
This evening we welcomed a second contingent from Radcliffe ATC visiting us at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.
There follows an account of their visit from our Equipment Officer – Base and Catering Paul Copley;
Tonight Bolton Mountain Rescue Team members Michael Eddleston, Equipment Officer – Base and Catering Paul Copley, and Trainee members Heath Doran and Neil Haigh, welcomed Civilian Instructor Dave Green and nine Radcliffe Air Cadets along with 3 accompanying adults to our Ladybridge hall Base / HQ.
The Air Cadets were shown the new MREW film which received good feedback then Trainee Heath Doran showed them what we carried in our personal kits, with particular reference to the Cadets who are undertaking their DoE Expedition Award work.
We then moved down to garage where the Air Cadets were shown the use of our mountain rescue stretcher and vacuum mattress.
The Air Cadets were just about to start looking at the other equipment contents of our garaged team vehicles when the team was paged to a call out Appley Bridge, Wigan.
At this point the Air Cadets were advised we obviously needed to leave urgently and their visit was sadly cut short.
