On Sunday 26th July 2015, we are hosting a very special day at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, when the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester visits us, and the Bishop of Bolton also attends at the same time to bless and dedicate our Incident Control Vehicle.
This same day will see some of our members receive ‘Mountain Rescue Long Service Certificates,’ the presentation of the Stanley Award to the Most Promising New Team Member, and the presentation of the Howard John Hill Memorial Tankard to the Person or persons making the greatest contribution to the workings of the team over the last year.
With many of our members present at this day, alongside their families and other invited guests, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was recently approached by a wonderfully kind supporter of the team, who makes regular donations to us, whilst wishing to remain anonymous, with the kind offer to sponsor a buffet for all present during the proceedings, followed by BBQ after all the presentations had been made.
Today our Team Leader received this promised donation, via the Charities Aid Foundation, a truly fantastic £200.00, with explicit instructions on using this very kind donation for the purposes outlined above.
Aside from our Team Leader, who preserves the anonymity of this very kind supporter (Just one of many who kindly support us yet wish to remain publicly anonymous) no one else in team, other than our Secretary who sends Letters of thanks, is aware of this kind friend, but all in the entire team membership send our thanks for this wonderful and very appreciated gesture.
