Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

Whilst engaged in transporting some team members from their completed search area back to Search Control, this evening at circa 19.35hrs, the driver and passengers of our Ford Transit Minibus / Ambulance, radio call sign ‘Bolton Mobile 5,’ whilst in the area of Astley Street, Tyldesley, witnessed a gentleman who was staggering on the pavement with an obvious and bleeding rear of head wound.

They stopped to render immediate assistance, whilst calling on the support of one of our Land Rover Ambulance vehicles, and its greater range of casualty care equipment.

The 79 years old local man, had apparently fallen in the street earlier, and was tended by team members, up to the arrival of an NWAS Emergency Ambulance at 20.00hrs, at which point all team members still present departed to continue with the on going search (See Incident 41)

The following resources attended this incident;

  • Bolton Mountain Rescue Team; Ford Transit Minibus / Ambulance, and one Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance, nine team Call Out members.
  • Cheshire Search and Rescue Team; one team member.
  • Greater Manchester Police; One Divisional Patrol Car and the ‘Leigh Beat’ PCSO.
  • NWAS (Greater Manchester Area); Emergency Ambulance from Bolton South Ambulance Station, two crew – Paramedic and EMT.
